Dr. Anastasia Trekles

Alex is, in a word, awesome. He works very hard, seeks a high standard of quality in everything he does, and is committed to any project he starts from the beginning to the end. I have both had him as a student and worked with him as an employee, and he is one of the most competent and self-sufficient young instructional designers I have ever worked with. He has developed a multitude of effective materials for my Office of Learning Technology that we continue to use today on our website and in faculty professional development courses. His learning materials are always very well-produced, thoughtfully designed, and accessible, which are important elements for our office, but in many other industries as well. Any employer would be very happy, and indeed fortunate, to have Alex on staff!

I’ve known Alex for several years and worked with him at two different institutions. I highly recommend Alex. He is reliable, creative, highly-talented and driven, project- and goal-focused, a genuine person who strives to excel. Alex works great in a team or individually. He listens to hear and understand and learns fast. He has years of experience in remote work and manages it seamlessly. I am amazed at his numerous skills and years of experience that he has built over the years, refining it into expert-level status in many areas of higher ed and ed tech. He will be an invaluable addition to his next employer.

I am delighted to write a LinkedIn recommendation for Alex Criswell as a Learning & Development Specialist, Instructional Designer, and eLearning Developer. I had the privilege of working closely with Alex during our time at K16 Solutions, and I can wholeheartedly endorse their expertise and contributions to our team. Alex’s standout accomplishments were his ability to author and manage technical documentation and training courses for our company curriculum. These materials were not only comprehensive but also engaging, making them invaluable resources for our employees in various roles. He also demonstrated collaborative skills by working closely with our People Operations and senior management teams. Alex’s efforts were instrumental in developing company-wide training programs which directly impacted employee engagement.

I worked directly with Alex at Adtalem Global Education. Every time I was assigned an initiative, I hoped Alex would be the Instructional Designer on the project. He truly is the best at understanding the intricacies of design and innovation. I remember when I joined the Course Design team, Alex was the person every team member referred to for his insight and expertise. He is professional, passionate, punctual, and reliable. Most importantly, I trust him. I know that whatever he touches and creates, it will be perfect and of high quality. Alex cares about the success of his team. Whenever I needed someone to step in to explain the nuances of course design to a stakeholder, he was ready and available. Going into meetings and hearing Alex’s voice meant that the project was going to go smoothly. I honestly credit him to opening my eyes to the world of design thinking. Along with his excellent work ethic, he is kind, supportive, and a joy to work with. The workplace sorely needs the creative mindset that Alex has. He is a valuable asset to any team. And, I would absolutely work with him again.

General Notes

Practicum Evaluations

My practicum involved creating training courses (“Blackboard Learn Training”) for faculty and staff of my alma mater. This involved creating multiple courses, instructional guides, videos, and assets while applying the ADDIE model.

Overall Evaluation: Exemplary

“Excellent work overall, and speaks to possibly many more hours of effort than originally required for the practicum. As usual, Alex has gone had above and beyond, and the result is high-quality, effective instructional products.”
